This is a good, solid door lock. It fit perfectly (in existing door) and seems pretty heavy duty. There are a couple of issues: 1) The fingerprint reader is not as reliable as you would like (consistently fails for everyone) and 2) the keypad is hard to read in direct sunlight. If not for those (particularly the fingerprint reader), would have given 5 stars.I like the ease of use. However, programming the user's and card's are not so easy. Figuring out how to get to the administrative settings is pretty challenging. I wish there was an additional feature on the lock that would take you to the admin. settings once you validated you're and admin. user. Overall though, I do really like having this lock.I love how you don't have to use key anymore. Keyless and perfect fingerprint smart design for your home. Works great and makes it easier for wifey to get in when she got groceries on one hand. Would recommendThis is not a simple installation. This installation requires meticulous attention to detailed instructions. I have installed hundreds of locks. Installing this one was different from everything else I have done. The only thing similar was the hole in the door and the cut out in the door jamb. HINT: The three “keys “included in the kit are very handy if you are in a hurry to set/operate the lock. It is the fastest way to work the lock, if you do not use the key, or your fingerprints. Be prepared to use your logic and reasoning powers as you go through the software of the locked. It takes some thinking.This is easy to install. Finger print scan is good and back up keys are goodI just got it and installed it in about 1.5 hours. It took me that long because I had to do a little modification. It works great! Set up was also easy.I really liked this unit and how good it worked, I will say the switch for private mode is not in a great spot, and got tripped more than I would like. The fingerprint reader worked pretty well for the most part as long as your fingers are completely dry and have nothing on them. The features were great but mine has quit locking and unlocking, I have tried clearing everything and starting over and I have also tried new batteries with no success. I haven't found a good spot for tech support so I suppose I will be replacing this unit with something else.If you have a steel door you will need to have a multi-tool and experience on hand to install this lock. I had to use a multi tool with a carbide bit to carve out the steel to accommodate the bolt and face plate. The drill bit included was a breeze to use. I was able to drill through the steel door and wood without any problems. As far as the lock goes, it looks and feels very heavy duty (e.g., it has quite a bit of weight to it). The instructions need to be re written by a native English speaker, although I was still able to figure things out without needing to call their customer service. Programming users was a breeze. Please note that each finger print, combination lock , or proxy card counts as one "user". There is no way to program usernames and associated authentication methods. For the 300 authentication slots that are available, essentially each slot is a "user". So if you program 2 fingers, 2 passwords, and 2 key fobs, that's 6 users! Each is counted as a "different" user. I wish it had the ability to add username and then associate many authentication methods for that username. As it stands rights now you would need to keep a log on a spreadsheet for each authentication method and who has been assigned to that fob, fingerprint, etc. The fingerprint reader can often be hit or miss, but this is more of a user problem. You need to be consistent with how you place your finger on the device. It is always best to press slightly on the fingerprint while programming and using it for best results. Accessing the emergency key hole is an absolute breeze; it was definitely well thought out. I love the fact that after you enter the house it immediately locks the door behind you. I no longer have to worry about my wife leaving the front door unlocked when she is alone at home. Once you get the hang of operating this lock you will quickly realize that it was a great investment for your safety and easy access. Giving your pet sitter a temporary code is also easy. You have the ability to create single use pass codes. The price is just right. Other vendors should take notice and reduce their ridiculously high prices for their locks with half the features. I am not too fond of the Echo or Google home controlled locks...that is seriously asking for trouble. This lock is a great option unless you really need that ability to remote unlock it, have a built-in alarm, have a camera built in, or the ability to interface it with your phone to look at authentication logs or to program it. Having said that, programming it on site was a breeze. I plan to purchase more in the future as long as the price stays within reason. I'm really enjoying this purchase.
